How I lead

Leadership

Portrait of Daniel Schosser

I lead by turning ambiguous goals into shipped software and engineers into teams that own their work. Across startups and scale-ups I’ve paired a strong bias for security, scalability, and meaningful results with the people work - hiring, mentoring, and aligning engineering with the business - that makes delivery repeatable.

Career

Experience

Twenty years of building software and leading the people who build it. Three of these roles have a full case study - the constraints, the tradeoffs, and what I would do differently.

  1. Jun 2025 - Present

    Airalo

    Engineering Manager

Managing across frontend, backend & mobile on the world’s largest eSIM marketplace.

Leading the development of innovative products and new opportunities that are reshaping how eSIMs are used - across a mobile-first, high-volume marketplace serving users worldwide.

  2. Apr 2022 - Jan 2025

    Juniqe

    CTO

Led engineers, DevOps & BI - and aligned engineering with the C-level.

Designed and launched a new marketplace business model while keeping the legacy shop running through a full-stack modernization, and owned technology strategy through the Myposter Group merger.

  3. Jan 2021 - Jan 2025

    Myposter

Team Lead Software Engineering & Tech Lead DevOps

Led backend & DevOps engineers across PHP and Go.

Drove project development for a high-traffic e-commerce platform through seasonal peaks, stood up the DevOps practice and CI/CD, and owned the collaboration between engineering and BI.

  4. Apr 2015 - Dec 2020

    Crashtest Security

    Co-Founder & Head of Development

Co-founded a security startup and led backend - sold to Veracode in 2022.

Built a fully automated DAST scanner for web apps and APIs; ran the backend team, payments, the Kubernetes infrastructure and represented the product through conference talks and hands-on security workshops.

  5. Jan 2014 - Dec 2015

    TEDxTUM

    Head of Operations

Ran the operations department for a major TEDx event.

Managed the operations team and brought every department together to deliver the event - the earliest role where the job was aligning people rather than writing the code.

  6. Jan 2012 - Jul 2018

    Schosser-IT

    Self-Employed

Built UniStuff to 25,000+ registered students - later sold.
